Aya Cockram

Oregon Statewide Energy Transition Organizer

Aya (she/her) has a background in the study of “Religion and Nature” and is fascinated by the ways that belief systems and worldviews influence environmental behaviors and climate action. She strives to apply intersectional organizing strategies that center historically marginalized and frontline community members and works to meet people where they are to build collaborative relationships. Before joining Breach, Aya served as the Coalition Coordinator for Fossil Free Eugene and has split her professional career between nonprofit work and teaching.

When she isn’t organizing for a just energy transition, Aya cycles around Eugene, engages in local climate and anti-imperial activism, is a gardener in progress, and toddler mom. She also sits on the board of WellMama, a non-profit that offers peer mental health support to pregnant, postpartum, and grieving parents and caregivers.
